In light of the growing global emphasis on corporate accountability and human rights, this webinar addresses a critical intersection of corporate law and ethics. It examines the legal and moral arguments for and against piercing the corporate veil in cases where subsidiaries or supply chains are implicated in human rights abuses. This session is designed to engage legal professionals, students, and academics, encouraging a robust dialogue on the responsibilities and liabilities of parent companies in a globalized economy.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Jaya Verma is an Assistant Professor of Law at the School of Legal Studies, REVA University, Bangalore. She holds an LL.M. in Corporate and Financial Laws and Policy from Jindal Global Law School, and a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Chanakya National Law University. Jaya is a Faculty Co-Ordinator at the Centre for Human Rights Law and Policy and the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights Strategy and Advancement (CISA) at SOLS, REVA University. She has presented papers at national and international conferences on various legal topics, including laws for refugees and transnational drug trafficking. Her areas of interest include Corporate Financial Law, Corporate Governance, and Investment and Securities Law.
